The Russian news agencies Interfax and Tass as well as other media are reporting that the Russian national company of Leroy Merlin has been sold to a company from the United Arab Emirates. The company in question is Scenari Holding. However, no information about the Scenari Holding mentioned in the reports can currently be found on the Internet, except in connection with the takeover.
The Spanish online service C de Comunicación was the first to report on this in Western media. According to Interfax and Tass, the French group Adeo, the parent company of Leroy Merlin, has sold 99.993 per cent of its shares in its Russian subsidiary Leroy Merlin Vostok, meaning it would still hold 0.007 per cent. The sale is said to have taken place on 1 December 2023. Adeo has not yet commented on this.
