Mid-October 2012 saw 26 846 visitors arrive at the Makuhari exhibition centre for the Tool Japan/Gardex/Extepo multi-trade fair. That was nearly 13 per cent fewer than attended last year’s premiere. Originally the organisers Reed Exhibitions had expected the 2012 visitor total to increase to around 40 000 visitors. Altogether 337 companies exhibited in the three different fair segments (Tool Japan 135, Gardex 161, Extepo 41). The dates for the third staging of the event are 9 – 11 October 2013. Half of the exhibitors at the 2012 show made bookings for the next year actually during the event. All in all, 90 per cent of the exhibition space has already been reserved. Tool Japan is rated as the only trade fair for tools to be held in Japan. Both local companies and suppliers from Britain, America, China, Taiwan, Korea and India participate in the event. Gardex/Extepo is claimed by the organisers to be the biggest trade fair for the garden sector in Japan. Companies from Europe also number among the exhibitors. Download:
