The French Groupe Adeo strongly increased its leading role in the European DIY trade sector last year. Although the difference to the British Kingfisher Group, who the French knocked off the top position in 2012 with a difference of just four mio € was minimal. The difference in 2013 grew to a respectable figure of more than one bn €. What is exactly behind these figures? How did the players in the European DIY trade sector 2013 cope? Who developed where, how and why?
The new Dähne Statistics DIY Europe publication gives detailed information on 28 countries. The 68 page statistic handbook is a result of the supplement which the DIY International editing staff have published every year. The reader wants to know exactly what’s going on: For quite some time now, the Dähne publishing house has noticed a considerable increase in demand for data that precisely reflects the situation in the sector. In response to this demand, Dähne has reacted with an enormous expansion of its information supply.
The newly designed European DIY store statistic has been mainly expanded by two key data packages: On the one hand, there is now a comparison with the previous year including the rate of change for the operating figures for the sales area and number of locations per country. Thus making it immediately clear what the DIY retailers have been up to.
On the other hand, there are now long lists of figures: The size of areas and number of locations for each country in the sector (not related to the separate companies) are now backtracked over the last ten years. In this way it is easier to follow the development directions in the DIY sector for each country.
Most importantly for practical work: All data is now available in excel table format on the CD-ROM provided.
