Further aid for flood victims in Austria

Knauf offers materials for housing reconstruction, Tilo donates money and time

Two more companies have announce aid programmes for victims of the flood catastrophe in Austria. Knauf is offering materials to the value of € 15 000 for the replacement of dry sub-floors and partition walls in prefabricated houses that have been affected. In addition, € 20 000 worth of plasterboard is to be given through builders’ merchants for the reconstruction of homes. The lightweight concrete floor slabs for the benefit of victims are worth about € 10 000. What is more, a budget of € 8 000 is being made available for aid purposes following the cancellation of all customer activities in August and September.
Immediately after the storms the timber-processing company Tilo of Lohnsburg made available to victims wooden flooring, parquet and skirting boards with a value of more than € 15 000. The company is also donating half a € for every square metre of parquet sold between 15 August and 15 October 2002. Employees are donating the equivalent of two or more working hours that are subtracted from their overtime or holiday reserves.
