The DIY multiples in France chalked up 6.2 per cent more in August than a year ago

In France the large-format DIY stores increased their volume of sales in August 2002 by 6.2 per cent over the same month last year. In July the annual rate of change reached an all-time high of 8.5 per cent. The FMB, or Fédération des Magasins de Bricolage, has disclosed cumulative sales growth of 3.6 per cent for the 14 months from July 2001 to August 2002.
