The mini version of the Warehouse store: B&Q multiplies its smaller store concept

B&Q is planning to open more stores in the new “mini-Warehouse” format. The concept provides for a selling space of between 5 000 and 7 000 m² that is designed for smaller catchment areas and offers up to 25 000 product lines. Customers also have access to the full Warehouse range via home delivery channels. Following two openings in the third quarter (to 2 November 2002), which the company claims have shown encouraging results, B&Q is converting a further four Supercentre stores to this format.
