Canadian Tire achieved a 1.4 per cent increase in comparable store sales
The companies forming the Canadian Tire Retail cooperative group saw retail sales increase by 4.7 per cent to $ 5.8 bn (€ 3.5 bn) in 2002. Comparable store sales grew by 1.4 per cent. Hardware and housewares were among the most successful core categories, according to an official announcement. Over the course of year members opened 20 new-format stores and retrofitted another 18 stores.
