New head of Philips Lighting

Austrian Robert Pfarrwaller, 44, has been named as the new head of the lighting division at Philips of Hamburg, Germany. He will at the same time function as the head of the sales area covering Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Pfarrwaller has worked for Philips since 1985 and his activities have included stints in eastern Europe and south-east Asia. His predecessor Jochen Franke has become chairman of the board of Philips Medical Systems.
