Rona given go-ahead for purchase from Kingfisher

The Canadian Competition Bureau has given its approval for Rona to complete its purchase of Réno-Dépôt. The current owner, the British multinational Kingfisher plc, and Rona announced their intentions in April. Approval from the Competition Bureau is, however, contingent on Rona selling one of its total of 20 stores, the Sherbrooke outlet in Quebec, to a third party. The six stores in the province of Ontario are currently run under name of The Building Box.
