Kingfisher has sold its Nomi DIY stores in Poland. Enterprise Investors, an investment fund that apparently does business principally in central and eastern Europe, is paying PLN 45 mio (€ 10 mio) for the chain. The deal is subject to clearance by the Polish regulatory and competition authority. Kingfisher is expecting the go-ahead within two months. The 39 relatively small-format stores generated sales of £ 76.4 mio (€ 108.4 mio) in the last financial year to 1 February 2003. Following the sale, the UK group intends to concentrate on expansion in the country by means of its large-format Castorama brand.
