New fair in Hong Kong

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKDTC) is organising a new trade fair under the name of Summer Sourcing Show for Gifts, Houseware and Toys from 6 to 9 July 2004. It has developed out of the supplementary July edition of the Hong Kong Gifts & Premium and Houseware Fair, which was scheduled for the first time this year and attended by 62 365 trade visitors. The range of products offered by the new fair in the houseware section includes such categories as bathroom accessories, furniture, handicrafts, decoration and kitchen utensils. Hong Kong’s houseware and giftware sectors are continuing in their upward trend. Products to the value of US $ 13.6 bn (€ 11.9 bn) were exported from these sectors during the first five months of this year. This amounts to an increase of 9.1 per cent year-on-year.
