The French Bricorama group recorded sales growth of 6.1 per cent in the first six months of 2003 for a total of € 282.3 mio. This amounts to a like-for-like increase of 4.12 per cent over the first six months of the previous year. Sales in France were up by 5.3 per cent, a rise of 1.75 per cent on equal terms. The stores in the Netherlands and in Belgium announced an increase of 8.1 per cent. Net earnings were 11.5 per cent higher at € 8.7 mio. In addition to the main retail format, Bricorama, the company also operates the Batkor stores and is a franchisee of Intergamma in Belgium and the Netherlands, where it runs outlets under the names of Gamma and Karwei.
