Tomorrow, 20 November 2003, will see Obi open two stores in Moscow, the group’s first in the Russian federation. The two outlets are situated in the immediate vicinity of the Ikea stores. The retail area of each amounts to 15 000 m² and the product range includes 50 000 items. According to Obi, there are about 60 Russian companies among the 400 suppliers. Meanwhile, Obi is planning to open further stores in Russia. There are proposals for additional sites in Moscow, and in St Petersburg as well. What is more, the group also intends to inaugurate new stores at Békéscsaba in Hungary and Aigle in Switzerland before the end of November.
