Rapid growth of exports

This year the Chinese manufacturers of small kitchen appliances are expected to export goods to the value of more than US $ 4.8 bn (€ 4.0 bn). Last year’s total volume came to US $ 3.7 bn (€ 3.1 bn). In a survey carried out by Global Sources, over 90 per cent of the 92 companies questioned stated that they intended to increase their production by between ten and 50 per cent over the course of the current year. Demand is increasing rapidly in other Asian markets, and is continuing to grow in Western Europe and America as well.
