Homebase records like-for-like growth of three per cent

The UK DIY retail chain has performed well, especially in home-related categories

In the 2003/2004 financial year (to 28 February 2004) the UK DIY retail chain Homebase achieved sales of £ 1.483 bn (€ 2.234 bn), which amounts to growth of five per cent. The total of 278 stores saw a three per cent increase in like-for-like terms. According to information provided by the company, sales of home-related categories including kitchens and bathroom furnishings were especially good. The operating profit of £ 102.2 mio (€ 153.9 mio) was only 0.6 per cent above the previous year’s level.
