US subsidiary sold

Gardena is selling its US subsidiary Melnor. The German garden equipment manufacturer has established a new distribution company, Gardena LLC, in the USA and is intending to concentrate on its core brand, as already announced previously. Melnor is going to MTC, a Taiwanese manufacturer of garden equipment, with which it has had previous business connections on the purchasing side. The sale is taking place with the participation of the management, Gardena’s Chief Financial Officer Erich Schefold has stressed. Jürgen Nies, Melnor’s vice president of operations and chief operating officer to date, will become president and chief executive officer of the company.
