Diversity of range

13.11.2004

CQFD’s aim is to underpin the sales record of its retail partners by clearly positioning itself as a décor and lifestyle supplier offering products in a distinctive range of materials, sizes and colours

The French company offers a broad selection of products for sale in DIY stores. The range stretches from profiles in steel, aluminium, PVC, brass or fibreglass, through to decorative panels, workshop hooks, PVC and PS sheet materials, and on to trestles as well. To take just one example, “Trétix” is a new universal trestle available in many different colours. It is not only suitable for use as a practical aid for DIYers, but can also add a new dimension to living areas as a furnishing accessory. Since the acquisition in 1996 of FFA, an Alsace-based competitor, CQFD regards itself as the European market leader in the product area of trestles for DIY uses.
A new four-tiered merchandiser is available for the range of profiles.
The company has also come up with a number of ideas where merchandising is concerned. For instance, it has developed an entirely new sales rack – designed in four different tiers – for its wide range of plastic profiles. There is also an appropriate merchandiser available for the decorative panels, which are individually packaged to protect them from damage or corrosion and to prevent any danger of injury to customers.
CQFD generated sales of € 25 mio in 2003 with a workforce of 180. Production is carried out at two plants in France, Saint Laurent d’Agny near Lyon and Natzwiller near Strasbourg. The company exports 40 per cent of its products to other countries of Europe: Spain, Portugal, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands and Switzerland as well as Britain, Ireland and Germany. It is represented by branches of its own in Britain (Wellingborough) and Poland (Breslau), and a German branch is due to open for business in just a few months.
The new Trétix work trestle can be supplied in many colours.
The company was founded in 1965 and is part of the French Socaldi Group, which concentrates on the development, production and marketing of electrical equipment. The group of companies generates an annual turnover of € 150 mio with a workforce in excess of 1 000. Chapuis, another of the group’s subsidiaries, claims market leadership throughout Europe in the chain and rope segment.
