Autumn fairs in Paris

The French garden fair Jarditec and the DIY fair have been reunited, with the latter expanded by the area of home decor to form a new show called Créabitat

The decision not to hold the garden and DIY fairs in tandem any longer was proved wrong in 1998 and has now been revised. The two fairs will accordingly be accommodated in Hall 5 of the Villepinte exhibition site in northern Paris from 25 to 27 September. This venue will see about 450 French and international exhibitors occupying an area of 47 000 m². On view at Jarditec will be all kinds of products and services revolving round the garden, pets and leisure pursuits. Créabitat will offer an overview of home decoration and interior design in combination with the DIY range.
Strongly recommended is a visit to Hortimat nextdoor (horticultural equipment, vegetable breeding and nurseries) and to New Plants, both fairs which are also being held in Paris at the same time.
At Créabitat it is hoped to turn the burgeoning appreciation of all that is private and home-made into an actual market opportunity. Statistics prove that the French DIY market is at present worth 15 200 Mio euro (FRF 100 000 Mio). Sales in the related garden sector are in comparison estimated at 6 100 Mio euro (FRF 40 000 Mio). Consequently the organisers feel it is important to open up new sales opportunities for exhibitors in the interface between gardening and home living, plant care and decoration.
Jarditec and Créabitat are presenting a special exhibition area, the “Espace Nouveautés”, exclusively for innovative new developments in the areas of home living and gardening, with prizes awarded for the best products.
Créabitat, the interior decoration and DIY trade fair, also offers an independent “Espaces Tendances” section for new trends, with ten designers presenting their creative ideas and new developments in the area of furnishings and everyday utensils. The use of new materials and futuristic technology should make this trend-highlighting show a particularly interesting meeting-place at the fair, especially since many of the items on display will be given their first public airing at Créabitat.
