In Germany, like-for-like sales increased cumulatively by 0.6 per cent, while overall sales rose by 3.0 per cent to € 1.0835 bn.
Like-for-like sales net of currency items in the rest of Europe experienced more dynamic growth in the first half of fiscal 2015/2016 than in Germany, rising by 2.3 per cent, according to the interim report. Sales abroad accounted for 42.3 per cent. Following three store openings in the current financial year to 31 August 2015, the company now operates 149 DIY stores across Europe, including 99 in Germany.
