The first British Bunnings Warehouse pilot store is to be opened in St. Albans mid-February. Before the end of July the Australian chain of DIY stores, who took over Homebase in Great Britain this year, wants to open at least three further pilot locations. By the end of 2017 this is to increase by another four to six locations. This was announced by the UK and Ireland managing director Peter Davis on the Networking Forum for the British association of manufacturers BHETA.
According to him in a press release by the association, the Australians intend to spend GBP 500 million on converting the Homebase chain and adding their new stores. Davis also confirmed that the DIY chain's core proposition would be refocussed on DIY, tools and consumables and an enhanced garden offer.
