Michael Schneider succeeds John Gillam

The Australian Wesfarmers group, parent of the Bunnings chain of DIY stores, has now filled the post of Managing Director of the Bunnings Group and has thus clarified the successor of John Gillam. Michael Schneider, currently Managing Director of Bunnings Australia and New Zealand, has now taken on this task. He will retain responsibility for Australia and New Zealand.
Bunnings United Kingdom and Ireland Managing Director Peter Davis will now report to Michael Schneider. Wesfarmers Deputy Chief Executive Officer and incoming Managing Director Rob Scott will chair the Steering Committee of Bunnings UK and Ireland.
John Gillam had stepped down from the role in December 2016. He continues to support the Bunnings business in an advisory role including as Chairman of the Bunnings Group Council.
