The opening of new stores close to existing stores in Bangkok has also resulted in a cannibalisation effect.
In the second quarter Home Pro opened two new stores, one of which is in the new format Home Pro S and is located in the Gateway Ekamai shopping centre. A new store also opened in Malaysia. As of mid-2017, the company operated 82 Home Pro stores and eleven Mega Home stores in Thailand, along with three Home Pro stores in Malaysia.
