Re-opening of DIY stores and garden centres in Austria

A good start, but no rush and no queues like in spring - in a nutshell, that is how DIY store and garden centre operators are describing the re-opening of the retail trade in Austria after lockdown. Since Monday of this week, 8 February 2021, all businesses in the country are allowed to open again. In the wintry weather, companies recorded a customer frequency and sales which lay over comparable days in February. Particularly in demand were products for making the home look more attractive and for interior construction, but also heating fuels and tools, as well as indoor plants.
