Home Depot, the largest DIY store operator in the world, is getting a new boss. Edward "Ted" Decker has been named CEO and president, and has been elected to the company's board of directors, all effective 1 March 2022. Craig Menear, currently chairman and CEO, will continue to serve as chair of the board.
Decker joined Home Depot in 2000. In October 2020, he was named president and chief operating officer (COO), where he was responsible for global store operations, global supply chain, outside sales and service, real estate, as well as merchandising, marketing and online strategy, serving Pro and DIY customers in stores and online. Previously, Decker had served as chief merchant and executive vice president of merchandising, where he was responsible for all store and online merchandising departments, merchandising strategy, vendor management and services, and in-store environment.
