Obi: Sergio Giroldi retires - Sebastian Gundel to succeed him

At today's supervisory board meeting, Sergio Giroldi (67) announced his decision to retire as chief executive officer of the Obi Group as of 22 September 2022. Giroldi has been CEO since 2003, having joined Obi in 1999 as country manager of the Italian subsidiary. He became a member of the Obi Group executive directors’ team in 2002.

The supervisory board unanimously elected Sebastian Gundel at the same time as chief executive officer with effect from 22 September 2022.

Gundel has been with Obi for ten years and most recently led the company's digital transformation as chief customer and digital officer.
