The Swiss DIY and garden market shrank by 8.9 per cent in the first half of 2022

In Switzerland, sales of specialist DIY and garden stores fell by minus 8.9 per cent to 1.96 bn Swiss francs (approx. EUR 2.02 bn) in the 1st half of 2022. As the German DIY, Construction and Garden Trade Association (BHB) further reports, the decline on a like-for-like basis was even more pronounced at 10.5 per cent. In the first quarter of 2022, the minus was 10.8 per cent and, like-for-like, minus 12.2 per cent, and in the second quarter of 2022 minus 7.6 per cent and, like-for-like, minus 9.3 per cent.
