The so-called "peak period" for the Dutch marketing cooperative Royal Flora Holland is over. The cold start to the season made for a late start, but from Mother's Day onwards, sales volumes also increased with the temperatures.

In April, May and June 2023, the cooperative said it handled a total of 7.1 per cent fewer auction cars and 4.5 per cent fewer auctions compared to the previous year - which equates to 5.4 per cent fewer units at auction than in 2022. At the same time, the average price rose by 6.6 per cent, with the average price for plants actually increasing by almost 33 per cent, according to Royal Flora Holland. The share of clock presales transactions was 25 per cent (up 1 per cent).

In addition, logistics developed positively compared to the previous year. According to the company's own statements, 100 per cent of all flowers and plants were delivered on time in June, and at the Naaldwijk location an average of 98 per cent was achieved over the entire period.
