With sales of USD 42.916 bn (EUR 39.526 bn) in the second quarter (ending 30 July 2023), US DIY global market leader Home Depot was 2.0 per cent below the corresponding previous year’s figure. Nevertheless, Ted Decker, chair, president and CEO, expressed satisfaction: "While there was strength in categories associated with smaller projects, we did see continued pressure in certain big-ticket, discretionary categories. We remain very positive on the medium-to-long term outlook for home improvement and our ability to grow shares in a large and fragmented market.” Like-for-like sales, both overall and in the US, were also down 2.0 per cent.
Total first-half sales of USD 80.173 bn (EUR 73.841 bn) missed the corresponding previous year’s figure by 3.1 per cent.
