Turnover at Landi shops down by 3.8 per cent in 2023

Turnover at the 270 Landi shops in Switzerland fell by 3.8 per cent to CHF 1.470 bn (EUR 1.558 bn) in 2023 compared to the previous year. According to the head office, the main reasons for this were the poor weather conditions in spring and cautious consumer behaviour.

Despite the difficult start to spring business, the garden and plant ranges are the strongest-selling areas of the cooperative retail chain. Soils and products for pest control and plant strengthening were in particularly high demand in 2023. As in 2022, the dog and cat food segment also grew in 2023. Demand for wood pellets and other fuels fell.
