The US agricultural retail chain Tractor Supply is backtracking on its diversity, equity, inclusion (DEI) and climate protection goals. In a statement published last week, it states that it will "ensure our activities and giving tie directly to our business" in future. Among other things, the statement lists the following examples: Tractor Supply will no longer submit data to the Human Rights Campaign, will stop sponsoring Pride festivals and voting campaigns, and will withdraw its current DEI goals and carbon emission reduction targets.

As industry analyst Craig Webb reports, the company is responding to a call for a boycott by influencer Robby Starbuck on 6 June. Among other things, this concerns internal training on sexual diversity and recruitment practices in connection with DEI guidelines.
