The hardware industry in Taiwan generates an annual turnover of around USD 30 billion. Its export volume has recently increased by 5 per cent annually and accounts for 77 per cent of the total volume. Against this backdrop, the organisers of the Taiwan Hardware Show (THS) and International Metal Technology Taiwan (iMT) trade fairs highlight the support provided by the relevant national and International industry associations.
In the country itself, these are primarily the National Joint Hardware Association of Taiwan, as well as around 15 local and regional trade associations. At international level, the organiser Kaigo mentions the European trade association Edra together with its international network Ghin as well as manufacturers' and trade associations from Japan, Malaysia and Indonesia.
The metal goods sector as a whole is significantly larger. A press release from Kaigo states an annual turnover of USD 433 billion and export growth of 7 per cent. Exports account for 65 per cent.
The Taiwan Hardware Show and International Metal Technology Taiwan will take place in the capital Taipei from 23 to 25 October 2024.
