Philippines’ Wilcon exploring overseas expansion

Philippine home improvement retail chain Wilcon Depot has confirmed that it is exploring opportunities for expanding outside of its home country even as it draws closer to its target of operating 100 outlets. The company confirmed earlier reports that it was looking at opportunities in Asia or Southeast Asia, “where it’s closer logistically”. It, however, clarified that there are no firm plans on this at the moment.

Wilcon chief executive Lorraine Belo-Concochan It was earlier cited by local reports as saying that Wilcon was studying expansion possibilities in Asia or Southeast Asia, “where it’s closer logistically”.  

“This was a response to a question but as explained there are internal discussions but it is not yet in the immediate future and that the company shall apprise the public accordingly,” Wilcon stated in a disclosure to the Philippine bourse.
