The Chilean retail group Falabella increased sales in the home improvement segment by 0.7 per cent in the Chilean domestic market in the first half of the year. It reported a sales volume of CLP 583 bn (EUR 569 mio). This does not make up for the decline in the first quarter, as sales in the first half of the year totalled CLP 1.2456 bn (EUR 1.216 bn), 2.7 per cent below the previous year's level. Falabella is active in the DIY shop business with its Sodimac sales line.
Although divisional sales in Peru rose by 6.5 per cent in the first half of the year, they fell by 9.0 per cent in local currency. There were also major currency and inflation-related fluctuations in the other countries.
