The European cross-border e-commerce market will reach an annual turnover of EUR 326 bn this year. Of this, EUR 225 bn or 69 per cent was generated via online marketplaces last year. These figures were published by Cross-Border Commerce Europe (CBCommerce.eu), a platform that aims to promote cross-border e-commerce in Europe, in the fifth edition of the report ‘Top 100 Cross-Border Marketplaces Europe’. The study was produced with the support of Fedex Express and Poste Italiane.
For 2023, CBCommerce.eu had estimated the volume of cross-border e-commerce in Europe including the UK, Switzerland and Norway at EUR 266 vn (excluding the travel segment). Marketplaces accounted for EUR 168 bn or 63 per cent of this figure.
