The hardline segment of Thai retail heavyweight Central Retail Corporation (CRC) saw sales weaken slightly in the third quarter of 2024 due to a slowdown in demand as well as stiff competition. CRC’s hardline segment, which trades under the brand names Thai Watsadu, BnB Home, Nguyen Kim, and others, reported a 2.9 per cent dip in sales for the period of July to September 2024, when it made THB 17.423 bn (Thai baht, EUR 478.509 mio).
“Thailand sales witnessed a slight decrease due to a slowdown in demand for electrical appliances,” the company said. “Vietnam saw a decline in sales, reflecting consumer prudence and high competition,” it added.
