The organisers are expecting a high number of exhibitors and visitors for the second edition of the International Hardware Fair Italy in Bergamo. More than 250 exhibitors have already confirmed their participation, says Thomas Rosolia, Managing Director of Koelnmesse Italia. These include, as he emphasises, "home improvements’s most prominent and recognised brands, with the support of the biggest international trade associations". The trade fair in the northern Italian city around 50 km north-east of Milan will take place on 8 and 9 May; the second edition will therefore avoid a Saturday and will now be held on Thursday and Friday. Koelnmesse organises it every two years, alternating with the International Hardware Fair in Cologne.
"The participation of major Italian and international companies confirms that the event responds to a need for profitable in-person networking, in a streamlined two-day format packed with initiatives and proposals for the market," says Alice Brambilla, Project Manager of the International Hardware Fair Italy.
The trade fair will be accompanied by a conference programme organised by Italian trade journalist Giulia Arrigoni from diyandgarden.com. Rainer Strnad, editor-in-chief of the German trade magazine ‘diy-Fachmagazin’ and DIY International, will be among those speaking about the international home improvement market. The trade fair is also organising a welcome programme for buyers who are expected from all over Europe.
The trade fair is supported by the industry's key associations, first and foremost the international DIY association Edra/Ghin. Other partners from Germany are the Central Hardware Trade Association, which represents the hardware trade in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and the Tool Industry Association; from Italy, it is primarily the Assofermet Ferramenta trade association and the Made4DIY manufacturers' association.
