The British DIY group Wickes achieved an increase in sales of 1.9 per cent to GBP 1.2123 bn (EUR 1.4446 bn) in its Retail division last year; like-for-like growth amounted to 1.5 per cent. As the much smaller Design & Retail division recorded a double-digit drop in sales (-10.5 per cent, GBP 326.5 mio, EUR 389.2 mio), the Group as a whole fell 1.0 per cent short of the previous year's level with total sales of GBP 1.5388 bn (EUR 1.8341 bn).
The trend in the second half of 2024 was significantly more positive than in the first six months of the year. Sales in the Retail segment grew by 3.0 per cent between July and December 2024. The decline in the Design & Installation segment was only 2.5 per cent.
