There will be a change in leadership at Hornbach in Austria. At the beginning of the new financial year on 1 March 2025, Peter Eberdorfer (38) will take over the management of the Austrian subsidiary Hornbach Baumarkt GmbH. He succeeds Marek Thiemel, who has been with the company for 25 years.
‘I would like to express my sincere thanks to Marek Thiemel for his commitment and successful work for our company. He deserves our respect for what he has achieved. He has kept our Austrian subsidiary on a very good course in recent years,’ says Jan Hornbach, member of the Board of Management of Hornbach Baumarkt AG, in praise of the outgoing country manager. Marek Thiemel is leaving Hornbach for personal reasons on 28 February 2025.
His successor, Peter Eberdorfer, who was born in Styria, has been with the company for 15 years. He began his career at Hornbach in Austria in 2010 as a purchasing assistant, followed by several positions in administration in Bornheim, Germany. In 2019, he was appointed managing director of Hornbach Forst GmbH. He has played a key role in building up the group's subsidiary.
Hornbach operates 14 DIY stores in Austria, as well as an online shop. The company reports a market share of 17 per cent in the country.
