The French DIY supplier Groupe Briconord is taking over Scell-it. This company, based in Lesquin in northern France, specialises in metal fastening technology and chemical fastening products for professional and home improvement retailers. It has 48 employees and is represented on the market by the three brands Scell-it, Atlas and Smartool.
Briconord is represented on the home improvement market with several product ranges under seven brands: Norail & Starblock (screws, bolts, hardware for the construction industry), Interges & Cime (hardware for furniture, storage), CQFD (sheets, profiles), Louis Moulin (outdoor), Nordlinger Pro (kitchen accessories and carpentry supplies), Easy Protect (window films) and Maclean (skirting boards, floor underlays). The group currently employs 420 people at six locations in France and the Netherlands and most recently had an annual turnover of EUR 156 mio. Almost 30 per cent of this is generated by exports to more than 15 countries. Its customers include numerous DIY store and building materials groups in France and the rest of Europe.
