The French DIY chain Castorama is discontinuing the sale of peat-based soils. In April 2025, the company stopped sourcing peat-based soils for its own brands. From December, the peat ban will be extended to all branded products. Once stocks have been sold, Castorama will no longer sell peat-based soils next year. At the same time, the Kingfisher subsidiary is financing projects to renature moors and is therefore supporting the environmental organisation ONF – Agir pour la forêt.
