In years past the family-run company Werth-Holz was repeatedly in the news through growth rates that were above-average for the sector in the category of wood for the garden. But the unsatisfactory development of the timber sector did not leave the family business unscathed: a process of restructuring became necessary. Since the beginning of last year Rainer Klee has been the acting partner managing the company, whereas Werner Theisen Jr, the son of the company’s founder, has withdrawn from operational business.

A programme of reorganisation has been designed to optimise the manufacturing and logistics processes as well as internal procedures. The product range has also been streamlined in parallel to this development. This involvement allows Werth-Holz to develop suitable product proposals, which can be optimised jointly with the customer with sufficient time in hand.
The new products for this year’s gardening season include the Douglas fir floor planks of 100 per cent clean spruce. One side of the planks is riffle planed and the other side has so-called anti-slip grooving, i.e. a particularly slip-resistant surface. Special floor clips are available to lay the planks without any screw heads showing visibly on the surface. Yet another new product is the pergola made of north European, pressure-treated spruce. This product is delivered as a complete kit including gluelam arches…
