New focus at Bau

Presenting themselves in 16 exhibition halls in Munich covering an area of approximately 170 000 m² (160 000 m² in 2003) will be more than 1 800 exhibitors (1 780 in 2003) from 40 countries. This means that the biennial event, due to be held next from 17 to 22 January 2005, will take up the entire Neue Messe site in Munich, including the expanded C3 hall and the new C4 building.
The fair organisers are opening up new markets through the inclusion of new topics such as building security, floor coverings, solar technology and construction in the existing building stock. There will be a special show dealing with this topic of construction in the existing building stock: hall B0 will provide 3 600 m² of space to cover the redevelopment, renovation and modernisation of buildings. Accompanying this special show will be a congress to shed light on the topic of construction in the existing building stock from a European perspective for the first time.
Also new is a separate exhibition area for the locks and fittings segment. Halls C2 and C4 are earmarked for the companies from Germany and Europe that intend to display to visitors their products and services relevant to this subject. Another focal point is solar technology, which will be on view on an area of about 2 500 m² in hall C3.
The 2005 Bau trade fair is occupying the Neue Messe exhibition site in Munich in its entirety.
The Bau trade fair has developed from an exhibition of components to a systems show over the last few years, analogous to the changes in the construction industry itself. Which is why the comprehensive range of exhibits  will be structured in 2005 by product and theme areas alongside the established breakdown according to types of materials. Consequently products, systems, materials and processes to do with roofs, walls and facades will be found in the north-west part of the exhibition site.
Another interrelated area is represented by the stone/ earth complex in halls A1, A2 and A3, which includes stoneware, sandy limestone, concrete, pumice, bricks and tiles, fibrous building materials, plastering, floor toppings and insulation materials. Construction chemistry is a special case, representing as it does the link between stone/earth and tiles/ ceramics.
The fair is for the first time devoting an exhibition area of its own to the subject of floor coverings. Hall B6 is the location where, on an area of around 11 000 m², flexible and textile coverings are presented alongside wooden flooring as well…
