“Plantin by Lotemplast” was founded in 1978, is headquartered in the Lotem kibbutz and today employs a staff of 80. The company is part of the Keter group, a globally leading manufacturer of plastic products for the DIY market.
Lotemplast sells greenhouses for gardening enthusiasts through DIY stores and specialist outlets all over the world.
The special feature of these greenhouses is that they can be assembled with slide-in panels on the “Lego” principle. The panels are made from polypropylene and polycarbonate with ABS frames and are reinforced by aluminium profiles. These are used to create traditionally designed greenhouses in a gabled or barn format.
Plantin has been able to position itself within a relatively short time as a supplier of greenhouses with the aim of offering robust products that are unique in design and competitively priced. Marketing manager David Deshe is pleased with the company's progress, since as he says, “Plantin is notching up double-digit rates of growth every year, thanks to its excellent reputation as a reliable supplier of quality greenhouses.”
The “EasyBuild” greenhouses now have air vents in doors and back walls.
The “EasyBuild” range was in the spotlight at this year's Spoga. The greenhouses are now available with air vents as a new feature in both the door and the back wall. Also displayed was a combination greenhouse (the front part of the kit) and tool-shed (the rear part), with a door in the front greenhouse section. This combination is also available in reverse order, with the shed located at the front and equipped with two doors. Developed for balconies and small spaces is the “EasyBuild Mini Lean-To”, which has two doors and two air vents in the roof and the lower section of the doors.
Other products on display were the barn-shaped greenhouses in the “Tough Line” series, which have polycarbonate panels.
This model combines both green-house and tool-shed.
Future plans for Lotemplast include focusing more on individual market tastes and preferences to produce models tailored to meet different requirements. “Within the context of our company philosophy and the continuous flow of improvements and innovations, we intend to present at least one new object each season,” says David Deshe in his description of the company's objectives.
