Jiffy began by manufacturing the original peat pots in the early fifties. Later the company developed peat pellets, which expand upon contact with water and consequently form pot and soil all in one. The Jiffy-7 peat pellets cause the roots to develop smaller root hairs which take up nutrients immediately and allow the seedlings to grow rapidly. The pellets are available on blister cards or boxed, and can also be delivered laid out on trays or in propagators.
Jiffy offers both pallet displays and shelf presentation solutions.
The pots are made not only from peat but wood pulp as well. Plants propagated in such pots can be transplanted without difficulty. Jiffy-Pots come in different shapes, round ones 6 cm or 8 cm in diameter or square with sides measuring 5 cm or 6 cm. Jiffy offers retailers a selection of space-saving display solutions to meet varying presentational requirements on quarter or half pallets, as well as shelf and counter displays.
The peat pots are available in varying shapes and packaging sizes.
The Jiffy Group of Stange has manufacturing plants not only in Norway but also Denmark and Canada. It also has sales offices in the USA, Holland and England in addition to Switzerland and France. The products are distributed by agencies or importers in other countries.
