Yuan Mei, which is based at Lu Kan, Chang Hua Hsie, offers a broad programme of products for watering the garden. The ISO 9001 certified company manufactures the range with the help of a workforce of around 300 at three production plants in Taiwan. Included in the programme are a variety of sprinkler systems, misting sprays, spray nozzles and shower wands, spray wands and tap timers. Other products include hoses, hose connectors in brass and plastic, and hose trolleys as well. Sixty per cent of the production stems from OEM, and forty per cent of the goods are distributed under the company's own Aquastar brand name. The company monitors the quality of the products continuously in its own laboratories.
Currently Yuan Mei exports products not only to the USA, Japan and Australia but also to Germany, Britain, France, Scandinavia and eastern Europe. All articles are assembled in the language appropriate to each country.
The company's main export market at present is the USA with a share of 60 per cent. Around 30 per cent of the export goods go to Europe. Seeing still further export potential in this market, President Gary Wang intends to continue to develop his firm's involvement in Europe still more strongly in future.
Over 100 patents worldwide are proof enough that the company is well equipped to do so; it claims to hold more than 70 in the USA alone. Gary Wang is proud not only of this considerable number of patents, but also of his inclusion in the International Who's Who of Professionals in the 2001 listing.
Yuan Mei is presenting a range of new products under the Aquastar brand for the coming garden season. It includes the “AquaDancing” sprinkler, which features a spray pattern reminiscent of an elegantly performed dance. It is claimed to work just as well on low water pressure as on high pressure, while at the same time being economical with water and also extending the time during which water is absorbed by both soil and plants.
Another new launch is the gear-drive sprinkler (model 14602). Its angle of rotation ranges from 15 to 360 degrees and it has a watering diameter of up to 24 m. The spray jet can be adjusted to two different settings as required.
