Italians discover energy efficiency Sustainability and energy efficiency will feature among the key themes of this year’s Saie building fair in Bologna, Italy, from 27 – 30 October. The Saieenergia section of the fair will take up three exhibition halls – having only just filled one when it was first introduced in 2008. Behind the change is the increased significance of this area in the building and construction industry. Sustainable modernisation is regarded by 65 per cent of Italian house-owners as the most important step towards increasing the value of their home. For bulk buyers The fair organisers wish to draw attention to the offer for bulk buyers within the scope of the Tendence trend and order fair in Frankfurt am Main. Products in medium and large volumes are offered in three different segments: Passage Gifts, Passage Home & Garden and Passage Table & Kitchen. This year the consumer goods event is once again being held at the old familiar time in late summer: 27 – 31 August 2010. Flooring products for China The Domotex Asia/Chinafloor event held in Shanghai recorded an attendance figure of 40 000, which is ten per cent up on last year’s total. Around 1 000 exhibitors from all over the world displayed their products. One of their main aims is to achieve access to China’s rapidly growing middle classes, which information from fair organisers Deutsche Messe suggests are developing into the world’s main consumers of flooring products. Premiere in Tokyo The International Hardware & Tools Fair, or “Tool Japan” for short, is celebrating its premiere in October. The fair will take place from 28 - 30 October 2010 within the framework of the 4th International Garden Expo Tokyo (Gardex). It is expected that there will be around 150 exhibitors from the garden industry’s hardware and tools categories at Tool Japan. The organisers believe that Gardex will attract about 1 100 exhibitors and 38 000 visitors altogether. More visitors expected Reed Exhibitions Alcantara Machado, organisers of the Brazilian garden trade fair Fiaflora Expogarden, are expecting more than 30 000 visitors to the 13th staging of this event. Dates: 23 – 26 September in São Paulo. Fair duo in Dubai A total of 5 000 trade visitors attended the Domotex Middle East carpet and floor covering fair and R+T Middle East, an offshoot of R+T Stuttgart for roller shutters, doors, gates and sun protection systems.
