Trade fair under new management The Ferroforma-Bricoforma trade fair in Bilbao, Spain, is now under new management. Arrate Tellaetxe (pictured), a company that has already worked for some previous editions of the fair, is now responsible for the event, which is due to be held next from 12 to 15 March 2013. Also new is the choice of show days: it is now to be held on workdays, from Tuesday to Friday, at the request of leading companies from the industry. Information from the fair organisers suggests that retailers are being more closely integrated into the preparations for the event, due to be held for the 20th time. What is more, the organisers point to special conditions for previous exhibitors and also to further offers such as zero-per cent financing and early-booking discounts. Koelnmesse goes to Moscow From 2013 the German trade fair company Koelnmesse intends to organise a furniture fair of international quality in Moscow under the name of Rooms Moscow. It will be staged in cooperation with Media Globa Krokus (MGK), the company organising the Moscow International Furniture Show. Hortiflorexpo IPM Beijing: successful debut in China German organisers Messe Essen assess the first Hortiflorexpo IPM Beijing as a very successful launching of the event. Hortiflorexpo, which is said to be China’s most significant horticultural trade fair, and IPM Essen, the leading global fair for the green sector, came together for the first time in April to stage the new event. A total of 405 companies from 24 countries and regions exhibited in the capacity-filled halls. An attendance figure of 16 586 was recorded. New look, new programme Emap Connect, organisers of the UK’s Glee garden trade fair, are reacting to the findings of a visitor and exhibitor survey with new programme features and new look branding. In response to feedback from smaller retailers in particular there are to be guided tours around the exhibition. New products will be exhibited together in the dedicated Shop Window area, while the Trend Tunnel, another new special feature, will present future trends, colours, customer insight and merchandising techniques. In addition the organisers will be publishing a buyers’ guide. “The fresh new branding perfectly complements the changes that are taking place, changes that we believe will deliver real value for exhibitors and visitors alike,” explains event director Nick Davison. Glee will be held in Birmingham from 17 to 19 September 2012. Back to the Expo…
