The China International Hardware Show (CIHS) is sold out. The fair, in Shanghai from 19th to 21st September, is achieving a record level of participation with more than 2 400 exhibitors in ten halls. The organisers believe that one reason for this is the Chinese government’s economic recovery programme for infrastructure projects, which have a knock-on effect on the secondary and export markets. As a spokesperson explained, the fair itself makes every effort to achieve a balanced concept covering four different aspects of the market: domestic and international, mature and emerging, urban and rural, as well as premium and competitively priced ranges. This explains why visitors from emerging markets are a core target group in addition to buyers from Europe and America. The China International Building Hardware Show and the China International Locks & Security Show will be integrated into the event as independent sub-shows. There will also be special zones dedicated to protective products and abrasives. This year, in response to the wishes of the industry, a processing and manufacturing equipment segment is also being added. Once again a “Best of China” showcase will be spotlighting products from domestic tool makers. Moreover, it is intended to highlight environmentally friendly and energy-saving products in particular. A range of seminars concentrating on technology, market and real estate trends will be held alongside the exhibition. The CIHS is being put on by the German fair organisers Koelnmesse and the China International Hardware Association, which has a membership of 3 000. Download:
