After a somewhat restrained first day, the Bau trade fair has really picked up speed: On the second day of the trade fair yesterday, 14 January 2025, in Munich, there were dense crowds of trade fair visitors in virtually all halls. In the conversations that the DIY International editorial team has had so far, a confident attitude has clearly dominated - both in terms of the balance sheet for the past few months and the outlook for the coming months. A number of suppliers are also reporting sales growth thanks to new products and new customers. The renovation sector plays an important role here.

In an interim assessment of the first days of the fair, exhibitors frequently emphasise that the traders are making intensive use of the fair and that the large DIY store groups in particular have come to Munich with their purchasing teams. However, it is regretted that some German and European manufacturers are not represented this year; on the other hand, a stronger presence of suppliers from the Far East is viewed critically.

Until Friday, 17 January 2025, more than 2,000 companies from 60 countries will be presenting their solutions and products from the entire construction value chain. The exhibition space at Bau covers 200,000 m² and thus occupies all 18 halls at the Munich exhibition centre.
