The latest innovation from the Italian tube manufacturer Fitt is named after the traditional children’s toy because it perfectly describes all the characteristics of the new garden hose. Yoyo is flexible and is child’s play to use.The patented hose expands when water flows through it, and contracts again when the water stops flowing. The manufacturer describes it as compact and lightweight, robust and durable. And: It is easy to wind up, and you don’t need a hose-reel either. Its high-tech structure prevents knots and kinks, thus ensuring the continuous flow of water.According to the company, Yoyo is produced using thermoplastic elastomers, free from both PVC and phthalates. The use of REACH - approved materials complies with Food Contact Quality standards .The strength and durability are guaranteed for three years. The hose, made in Italy, withstands significant mechanical stress (such as dragging over hard and rough surfaces) and extreme temperatures: After four hours at 60 degrees C, the hose must be able to withstand a sharp temperature drop to -20 degrees.During the series of tests, Fitt worked together with the German certification body TÜV SUD in the development of a test protocol to evaluate the safety, resistance, and durability of the hose, together with chemical analysis of the materials used.Yoyo is supplied with a multi-function spray gun with seven different flow settings – from gentle, for small plants and flowers, to powerful, recommended for cleaning objects and large areas such as patios and terraces.Also for the packaging and market presentation, Fitt has come up with something new. The hose is supplied in a transparent round box. Lively, fun graphics on the packaging feature pictograms and icons explaining all the characteristics and benefits of Yoyo, as well as its many fields of application. The choice of red as the main colour proves to be immediately eye-catching and creates a high impact, coordinated image, according to the marketing planner’s reasoning.“We wanted to give Yoyo strong emotive value, starting with the packaging”, explains Monica Rigoni, Marketing Director of Fitt, “to differentiate the product from competitors’ expandable hoses currently on the market.”The hose should be able to be seen and touched.
